Urea - carbonic acid diamide (CH₄N₂O). It is white crystals, soluble in polar solvents. It is used mainly as a nitrogen fertilizer (nitrogen content 46%) - it is produced in this quality in a granular form resistant to caking. It is used to activate growth, obtain abundant harvests, and maintain plants in a presentable condition.
Another important industrial application of urea is the synthesis of urea-aldehyde resins, which are widely used as adhesives in the production of wood fibre boards and furniture.
Delivery terms
Packaging, transportation and storage conditions
- It is transported in special railway and truck tankers, in steel cylinders, and in tankers.
- Transported by all types of transport (except air transport) in accordance with the rules for the transportation of dangerous goods in force for the given type of transport.
- Urea is also transported by pipeline.
- Stored in above-ground storage tanks in warehouses in accordance with the safety regulations for above-ground storage facilities approved by the national technical inspection authority.
- Cylinders filled with urea are stored in special warehouses or in open areas under a canopy that protects the cylinders from precipitation and direct sunlight.
- Storage with substances capable of forming explosive mixtures is not permitted.
